As I’m off to meet my incoming friends at the airport, here is what they will see when they get here. I may like posting greens and blues, but here and now Tuscany looks like this.
Yesterday it didn’t start right, since their first flight was cancelled. I cannot imagine how this must have felt. They were offered a 24-hour rebooking but Crystal said no to that and got an earlier option. They have just landed in Frankfurt and hopefully will arrive only five hours later than initially planned.
Welcome, friends, Crystal and Pedro! It may be dry and brown but we will make it a rainbow.
Lake Burano. Bestia almost merges with the background. The view towards Monte Amiata but it was not visible four days ago when I took these. An artist in waiting. Bestia is alert. What does he see? These two always come a-barking when we pass. At least one is female because bestia cries to her. I’ve been watching this fence for a while, waiting to click. And this is why. If you look, blues and greens are everywhere, even in the browns.

I picked the perfect time to pop by. Now I know where Crystal and Pedro are and how the trip is going. Thank you for that. I like that you use more photos than words. Love the photos. They say a lot.

Thank you, Marlene! I like to tell it with photos but captions are important for me too. Yesterday we dropped them off in Venice and returned home to Tuscany. We spent a most wonderful week, full of movement and variety, and they even got to do a big hike in the Julian Alps on Monday. I’d love to go with them so much but my feet are beyond that. All in all, it was just right.

It’s always wisest to listen to your own body. I don’t do hikes. Never have. Have trouble keeping the ground where it belongs. Venice sounds fun but I think I’d rather do Tuscany if I had a choice. Thanks for being such a great hostess to them. Bloggers are very special people from what I’ve seen.

Never realised it could get so brown and dusty there. The picture of the purple or blue flower is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing all that Crystal gets to see while you act as guide 🙂

Thank you, Smitha! After the week full of movement and sights and spoonfuls in my two countries we returned home from Slovenia last night while our visitors remained in Venice. I took many photos with the new camera (Crystal’s gift!) but will need to organise them. Hope you’re well too.

I hope they make it without anymore travel frustrations. It looks like a hot dry summer, but still so pretty!

Thank you, Deborah! We were quite lucky and found no major obstacles anywhere all our week together. Most of my ideas for this week were fulfilled. I’m positive that my visitors were equally happy.

Wow yes, certainly dry, nothing, and I agree anything green or blue, like the morning glories just pop in that landscape. Always a beautiful story with your photos. Donna

Thank you, Donna! You see how hard it would be to call it golden? I pass this bunch of morning glories daily and now there are even more. I’ll take more photos with my new old camera. 🙂
