Today’s poem is so short that it comes with a song. Or is it vice versa? Plus there are pictures, of Rome, of course. It’s where Måneskin are from.
Song first. Amore had said that they would win the Eurovision Song Contest for Italy, and they did. This happened in May and he is still listening to them almost daily. Now they are winning over America and Finland and the world with this cover that is four years old. Never stop believing, and begging, and beginning. This was one week ago in LA. Måneskin dress up nicely.
Beginnings? Begging to begin does not even begin to explain the pain.
The photos are from one day in May 2014 when amore took me to buy some books in Trastevere and along the Tiber in Rome. There is the island where he was born, and the dramatic river, and the light of Rome which has no equal. We had only just begun, one year earlier, but everybody can begin. The key is to go on.

In response to Patrick Jennings’ Pic and a Word Challenge #291: Beginnings?
This day in my blogging history
Lovely pics as always. ESP that one of you, my sweets. New books. Yay! Loved the short poem. And everything you put together. Gorgeous.

Thank you, Selma. 🙂 I like it how sometimes some things just insist to be put together in a post like this. That was a glorious after in Rome. Sadly I haven’t been back there in almost two years.

Thank you, Sarah. 🙂 In these photos it is really the queen. It’s hard to take bad photos in such light.

Books! What could be better? (K)

Quite right, K. Well, it would be better if it were right now and not seven years ago. I haven’t been back to Rome in almost two years. Thank you!

Yes, our lives get smaller and smaller. Just when we see the end it begins again.

Thank you, Scooj! If you click on that door you will reach the post from this castle with many other good ones, I think. It was hard to choose just one.

He sure knows how to do a show! I love this song btw, so many versions but he totally nailed it.
You have lovely shots as always, never fails to impress me. You made Rome, Slovenia and Tuscany very near to me.

Yeahh, thanks, Just Blue. You made me happy. Yours is the only comment that mentions the song. 😀 And I’m really happy to hear this last. Keep them near and one day you’ll be here. 🙂

Love the photos, they seem really vibrant, but the poem won the day for me. It really resonates with feeling 🙂

Thank you, Not Pam. I’m glad! It just burst out this way, the poem, and who am I to hold it back. 🙂

Learning about another band from you. Love to see different side of Rome, it always struck me as chaotic, probably because I stayed around the Termini last time I visited.

Thank you, Sunny. 🙂 My taste is all over the place. I’m glad that you give my choices a listen. Yes, around the Termini is not the best place in Rome. Chaotic is a good word for all of it, though, I fear. 😀

They deserved to win for that, they really did. Italy always wins stuff, it must be something in their water.

Hahha! I just read today that it won the title Country of the Year by the Economist. 😀 It’s in the water and in their I-don’t-care stance. It’s as if they KNOW they are the best and winning is just the logical result. 😉

I think you’re right. No wonder they’re always in a good mood! It explains a lot.
