Pic and a Word #291: Begging to begin

Today’s poem is so short that it comes with a song. Or is it vice versa? Plus there are pictures, of Rome, of course. It’s where Måneskin are from.

Song first. Amore had said that they would win the Eurovision Song Contest for Italy, and they did. This happened in May and he is still listening to them almost daily. Now they are winning over America and Finland and the world with this cover that is four years old. Never stop believing, and begging, and beginning. This was one week ago in LA. Måneskin dress up nicely.

Beginnings?

Begging
to begin
does not even begin
to explain
the pain.
Crave the pain? No, really no.

The photos are from one day in May 2014 when amore took me to buy some books in Trastevere and along the Tiber in Rome. There is the island where he was born, and the dramatic river, and the light of Rome which has no equal. We had only just begun, one year earlier, but everybody can begin. The key is to go on.

    1. Hahha! I just read today that it won the title Country of the Year by the Economist. 😀 It’s in the water and in their I-don’t-care stance. It’s as if they KNOW they are the best and winning is just the logical result. 😉
