Lens-Artists PC: 18 images/18 stories

I smiled a little when I saw what Leya envisioned for her One Image/One Story challenge: “Pick one or two, maybe three?” Ahh, how cute. Three is a lonely number. How about other 15.

This is how I do it every time. If a little story unfolds when I look at a photo, I know: this is the photo that I wish to post. In fact, this is how I look at the world around me as such, as a well of stories. No wonder that I’m never bored.

My Canadian friend in Pippi found a quotation that sums up blogging well for those of us who are lucky and don’t have to sell anything. Goethe should know.

Here are my few more or less reasonable words for today and some fine-ish pictures: 18 haikus that accompany my 18 examples of how an image evokes a story.

As usually, they come from here, Italy, and there, Slovenia, just like I do. Keep warm, we are almost at the freezing point and I hear many of you are even lower.

Oh, one photo needs an explanation, the one of the helicopter. There was no new accident but the scene reminded me of the 1998 Cavalese cable car crash when a US Marine aircraft flew too low in the Dolomites in Italy in order for the pilots to “have fun” and “take videos of the scenery”, cut the cable and caused a tragedy. Don’t do that.

As for that restaurant where you can eat with bitcoins? It’s “Pirat” in Piran. You’re welcome. 😀

A Slovenian in Italy for love. Blogger, photographer, translator and would-be writer who would be a writer if she wrote. Plus reluctant but emerging poet. Beware.

  1. LOVE your stories, Manja – but not the big spider. .. Bestia, the thorn (Excellent and exceptional!), the missed chance…and all the others. You have a remarkable eye – always!

    1. Thank you, Leya! I’m glad you like it and are not too upset with me for having crossed your recommended limit for a bit. 😉 Coming up with some posts gives me more joy than others and this was one of the especially joyous ones. Thank you for this most excellent theme!

  2. Do I like your captions more than your photos? It’s a very close call, ha ha! Love the mirror threesome, and the black sheep.

And the snippets of history too, glad you included the story of the tragedy. The thought that someone’s arrogance or stupidity can kill you. And there are people terrified of cable cars – there was probably someone in that cable car who had been convinced by their friend that it was perfectly safe and just try it, then their worst fear happened.

Fascinating narratives you offer up here, Manja 💛☀️

    1. Ahhh, that’s a scary thought. 😦 The worst fear indeed. Thank you, Sunra Nina, I’m glad you’re having fun alongside me. I love this post because I had so much fun with these haikus. Honestly, I could write one for every photo I post. 18 is few considering what could have been. 😀
