As you can see, monochrome is in the eyes of the beholder, and this beholder says: one colour, more or less.
Cee’s – who is our host – and Bushboy’s images for this challenge were so vibrant and happy that I immediately wished to go through my archives and make my own post. Here it is now, without any words under pictures. There were enough of them yesterday.
Photos are from Slovenia and Italy and include one image of a peeling paint and another of paint as such. What is it that they say about watching paint dry?
Click on a photo to see it in full, now they are all merely a bunch of pretty happy squares.
For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: All One Color

What a fabulous gallery one one colors. I like the blues and greens, but in nature they are my favorite colors 😀

Thank you, Cee, it was a pleasure like always. 🙂 Greens and blues are my favourite in nature too.

Beautiful photos, especially the black and white ocean photo. 🙂

Thank you, Lynette. It does look like black and white and yet it was taken this way. This part of the Italian coast is called Costa d’Argento, Silver Coast. Maybe this is why. 🙂

I realized later that it was actually a colour photo taken on an overcast day. The name is very appropriate! 🙂

A wonderful gallery Manja. Love the peeling paint but what is going on on that brass door? Glad to be an inspiration too 🤗

Thank you, bushboy. That door I passed so many times in Ljubljana but never gave it a good look. This is the only photo of it that I have. I thought it was a man petting a dog, but it could also be a dragon.

Hmmm, now I had a closer look. That fist around the animal’s neck doesn’t look too friendly. :p

I am glad that it’s an animals neck and not what I thought first glance 👀😲😂

I like focusing on one color in each photo as it puts emphasis on seeking subtleties that would be missed with more color options in the scene. Just fascinating to see.

Thank you, Claudia. Interesting to think of it this way. This gallery was fun to do.

Well done, Manja, you’ve nailed this! By the way, where was that first image of the old factories taken? Italy or Slovenia?

Thank you, Sue! This was much fun. The first photo is of an abandoned factory by the Orbetello lagoon, right here in Tuscany, Italy. I’ve heard rumours of asbestos so am not very interested to go and explore.

Ah, yes, stay away from asbestos

My favourite is the field of grasses (wheat perhaps). It reminds me of where I lived when I was first married. 🙂

I love these bands of matching colours – very well put together 🙂 And I love the images themselves too – I have a bit of a thing for ‘monochrome colour’ photos and you have some really good examples!

Thank you! 🙂 I had another look at this post it’s really quite cool. Just right. On Sunday I’ll post one with two colours in each image.

Ok, until it’s not. Usable till I get tired, till it hurts too much to stand or walk. The percentage is discouraging. A recent test showed I use 30% of it. But I keep walking…and working out, and swimming.
