A Slovenian in Italy for love. Blogger, photographer, translator and would-be writer who would be a writer if she wrote. Plus reluctant but emerging poet. Beware.

That cake looks amazing! Wonky doors are interesting, makes you want to see what’s behind them 🙂
You’re most welcome, Lynette. I was in a panic because the dough didn’t rise in the oven at all and the frosting was dripping butter, but the end result was rather smashing.
It was yummy even though at first I was really disappointed with how it looked. Make sure you beat the dough with the machine. I thought – as Nigella says – beating by hand wouldn’t kill me but it nearly did.
Thanks for giving us a few extra glimpses of Bestia! I also loved (but forgot to acknowledge) the photo from your Doors post where Bestia was peeking up from under a table. And I very much admire your beautiful dive. A good metaphor, indeed!
Thank you, Carol Ann. 🙂 Your comment makes me smile every time. Bestia likes to peek optimistically from under the table. Clearly he has learned that it brings rewards. The dive is from a while back. I can’t remember the last time I did it. A metaphor in that too, I imagine.
I loved that poem of yours, I remember it. I didn’t get published back then but I included my prose poem in my collection. To be published one fine day…Hopefully.
The woman reminded me of Frida so it’s a story about her.
I hope you will publish it too! I finally got an idea for a book as well, and it’s also a collection of short pieces. Not nearly ready yet though. And I hope you found some chocolate in the meantime. And wine. 😀
Ha ha ha! Well done! I’m terrible at diving, it scares me. Certainly not into the great big blue like that. You’re brave. I mastered the belly flop immediately however!

Thank you, Aimer. 🙂 It was really good, this cake, despite my frustration when the dough wouldn’t rise.

Sounds way too difficult for me 🙂

It’s not! I’m far from skilled and I managed.

That poem is wonderful, it really speaks of the character so well. And that cake, it’s 5am here and I want it so badly 😁

The link is right here below the gallery. Just make sure to choose the machine over hand-beating, no matter what Nigella says.

How could you resist that face!
I remember that Visual Verse poem too. (K)

Haha, in this case I resisted. We don’t give him chocolate. Thanks, K., I’m glad you do.

That chocolate cake, though. Yes, please! And capturing that shot mid-dive!! Excellent work. She’s got good form, bet she cut the water smoothly.
Ah, Visual Verse. You are an accomplished regular 🙂

That’s me diving, back in 2009, I believe. Let’s just say that right now I’d make a much bigger splash. 😀 Thanks, Sunra Nina!
