Lens-Artists PC: Five new challenges

What a good idea Tina has! Why not bring us closer together by making us join new challenges? I gladly obey. This post answers to five.

Every blogger just starting out should be told this: Do not wait. Start joining challenges immediately or your blog will only be visited by perplexed relatives for a year (well, this depends on your level of bubbliness and weirdness).

What a boost I got back then when I joined my first challenges – Thursday Doors, Weekly Photo Challenge and various Cee’s challenges – yes, after a year of more or less blogging in silence! The year was 2015 and I’m happy to say that the first one, my favourite Thursday Doors, is still going strong, as is Cee with her output.

These are the challenges that I post for regularly, including this one, Lens Artists PC, of course. In each line the first link leads to the most recent challenge post, and the second to my latest contribution:

As you can imagine, my blogging week is rather full and luckily I post every day or I’d never manage to fit in all of these. That’s why I’m especially glad for this opportunity to post for some challenges, which otherwise I might not do so soon, even though I want to. Let’s do it in random order.

1. Thursday Trios, hosted by Mama Cormier

2. Six Word Saturday, hosted by Debbie Smyth. Each photo comes with six words.

3. Pick a Word, hosted by Paula at Lost in Translation: Each photo corresponds to one of the five words, given by Paula.

4. Pull Up a Seat, hosted by XingfuMama

5. For a bit of fun, Cee’s Black & White Challenge: Cups or glasses.

For fun is the only way I dare do B&W.

Christmas in Rome. Gift to amore from his daughter. Polite translation: “Keep calm? You wish!”

  1. I agree that the challenges are an essential part of the blogging community, Manja, and a great way to get started, but they can be exhausting to keep up with. I read blogs every day but no way could I post that often. I like a life-blog balance, with the emphasis on living. You do a great job. .

    1. Thank you, Jo. Your comment gave me some thought. The life-blog balance, in particular. With the emphasis on living… Not stellar in this regard, I’m afraid. I’m having such an active blog especially for this reason – not much living to do around here. I’m a person who needs a kick to get around.

  2. I love challenges, they always inspire an idea. I’m running a prompt for next month, Floral Friday. If you’re interested your welcome to drop in 😁

  3. I am glad I am not the only photo challenge addict out there. I didn’t start until 2017 and now enjoy hosting a few challenges as well. Thanks for the mention for Last on the Card Manja 🙂 🙂

  4. Wow! I love your photos and you’ve done an impressive job of joining lost of challenges. You’re right that this is the way to get into blogging – you’ll meet lots of wonderful people and get lots of followers. And you’ll then work out how much you can blog and link and where you feel happy. I have made lots of new friends through challenges, some that I meet and some that I chat with on zoom, and some I just comment with on blog. The most important is to do at least one of Cee’s and watch who else she features or joins in with. Happy Blogging! And thanks for joining 6WS 🙂

    1. Oh, I’ve been blogging for 8 years and this is my 6th blog. 😀 What I describe here are my blogging beginnings. I’ve hosted some bloggers here in Tuscany as well. Just somehow this is the first time I answer to your interesting challenge. In any case, thank you, Debbie. Blogging is wonderful and bloggers are the best.

  5. I don’t know how you do it, posting every day. I can barely get one post every week or two. I do enjoy seeing your photos so I’ll leave it there. I get that we all like to challenge ourselves. Keep up the great work.

  6. What a lot of different challenges you’ve managed to link to! I’m tempted to join in with Thursday Trios as it’s a great concept, but I’m not sure I can fit anything else into my blogging week! Let’s see 🙂

    1. Thank you, John! This is the Nordic centre Planica in Slovenia. They use all these ski jump hills for practice and competitions, both in the summer and in the winter. We were there in August and some girls were having a go practicing. Yes, they jump too. 🙂 Slovenia has had many successes in male and female jumps and flights.

  7. Wonderful effort posting everyday. I used to do that but since I revitalised my love for sketching and doing some courses, I can’t seem to fit it in. But I still try. I love best your social distancing chairs and the three smiley faces in the train station.

  8. Manja – the one and only! Well done doing all of these challenges – and that is WELL DONE. Wonderful combos and beautiful mind you have. The eye – something you most certainly have, combined with the feeling. I envy you doing all of those challenges, as I have lost both time and mojo. I don’t know what is happening really…but I have friends feeling the same way. Life is not what it used to be, and I really don’t know how to get some fun back into it. Reading and seeing your posts always make me smiling and happy though – have you ever thought of how much joy you bring to people?
I was blogging for two years and only family watched me…you are so right – doing challenges, that’s the key. So many wonderful people I have met, and like you point out – bloggers are the best!
Love all your choices, the distancing chairs made me smile extra. I found some new challenges too – but my favourites are Paula’s and Debbie’s plus LAPC. ♥ Big hug.

    1. Sweetest Ann-Christine. ❤ You always have such nice words for me and what I do. I could live on them for sustenance, and in a way I do.

I understand about the lost mojo, it's common and not hard to understand. But you see, I have given myself the task to post daily until May 22 when one year is complete because of the blogging memories that I post daily. I wish to come full circle and then we will see.

Bloggers are the best for sure. And we do what we can and when we can, no pressure. That I can make you smile is the best it can be. And that I can bring joy to everybody who needs it. Much love and many thanks for your words and beautiful heart!

    1. Thank you kindly, XingfuMama! 🙂 I had much fun with this post and in choosing the seats for you. Glad to hear that you had a look at Sutri upon seeing it hear. I bet that you found photos of it with nice green grass. We were there in August and it was completely dry as always in the summer.
