Oooops, I didn’t mean to say that in the title. There will be others! But Sandy wishes to know about the last good things we ate, saw and laughed at in recognition.
When I saw Sandy’s Friendly Friday task, I REALLY planned to post only one photo per question, alas… You can guess the rest. Also, I stick to Sandy’s good things. Looking around for other good things would make me nervous. There are not that many. As for the war, I’ll talk about that tomorrow.
Oh, one other thing happened, Slovenia has selected its Eurovision Song Contest 2022 entry. At least we hope there will be songs to sing in May. See what you think. LPS means Last Pizza Slice and they are a high school band.
And now, let’s do it by numbers. I was doing well, one photo per point-wise, until the last one.
1. What was the last good … thing I ate?
I generally eat good, too good, in fact. So good that I’m not even taking photos any more of all the food amore makes for us. This was his last experiment, even though usually he sticks to ancient Italian recipes. It may look mighty weird but it was excellent. What is it, you ask? Red cabbage risotto.

2. What was the last good … show I watched?
I’m in the middle of My Brilliant Friend (L’amica geniale), season 3. It is in Italian and Neapolitan dialect for which even Italians need subtitles. For a woman living in Italy it’s rather heart-wrenching. It is not easy and it used to be much harder.

The last two shows I finished were:
- Leninov park (“Park Lenin”), Slovenian crime series. I watched it in self-defence, just like Americans watch Don’t Look Up, asking myself “Are we really like that?” Yes yes, we are. Even worse.
- Hinterland (Y Gwyll). After starting off in English they soon burst out in full Welsh. Fun to hear. The end of Season One hits sooo hard that I just had to see the other two seasons as well. Usually the detective as the main hero is not as nuanced, good to see Mr. Richard Harrington nail it.
3. What was the last good … comic that reflected my life?
Here is where my ears wiggled because I only had to look through my Facebook timeline where I post all the stuff that I encounter and can identify with. Have 11 of them. Sorry not sorry, they all apply.

For more giggles of this sort see this post.
For Friendly Friday Challenge hosted by The Sandy Chronicles: What was the last good…

This day in my blogging history
Manja–I did get a bit worried when I read ‘last’ post…! I love reading Dorothy Parker quotes–sharpest tongue ever! Ah, the secret to cutting onions, but then the three-word description! These were all so good! Happy weekend to you and amore.

I know I could count on you to have some fun together, Lois. 🙂 Thanks! I wish you a calm weekend too.

Love the shock factor of the accidental title. 🙂 The cabbage risotto looked intriguing. Have not heard of the show. The comics were terrific. The onion one was my favorite. Now I have Jimmy Hendrix in my head from one of the later photos. 🙂

Hihi, thanks, Betsy. I’m glad you had a few laughs. The show is made after Elena Ferrante’s four Neapolitan really good novels. The series gives the same feels as the books did, which is so rare. And good that the wind cried to you too. 🙂

Not that you need it but I give you blanket dispensation to post as many pictures as you want for Friendly Friday 😉
You have a fine selection of responses today. I especially cracked up with the Lazy joke. Good one!

Hihh, good to know, thanks, Sandy. I will not overuse this blanket. And I’m glad you got some chuckles out of it.

A high school band? For real? They are superb! Really loved the song.
Don’t say there’s My Brilliant Friend series? Oh how I envy you.

Ahh, glad to hear that you like them, Bojana! 🙂 They are growing on me too. And the series gives me exactly the same feels as the books did, which is rare. Ms. Ferrante oversaw the production.

And still no one knows who she really is and what she looks like?

Oh, I think she was busted by a journalist who followed the money. She works (worked?) for a publishing house as a translator. But now I googled the matter and some claim that the novels were actually written by her husband! 😮 Damn! I find it hard to believe that a guy would write them… but everything is possible.

I think it’s all fake news, esp that one about her husband. It’s all written by a woman. Period.

I love the band! They have such performance presence (I loved how they kicked off their song). They’re talented, engaging and — I’ll say it because they’re in high school — adorable. I’m rooting for them.

Yeah! Excellent! Thanks, Carol Ann. They are clearly talented. Too bad that at the event itself only the singer is live, all the music is on tape. :p

I can tell from your choice in comics that we have a similar sense of humour. And I also love My brilliant friend (I’m a big fan of Elena Ferrante), but I’m reserving judgement on the red cabbage risotto 🙂

Thank you, Constance, good to know about all three. 🙂 I read her in English and she is amazing. Her Days of Abandonment is one of the most devastating things I’ve ever read.

Thank you – I think my husband’s Italian will be up to understanding this (thanks to the photos I can almost do so myself!) And it looks a good website generally 🙂

Yes, amore uses this one almost exclusively.

I had forgotten to check and see if they made a new season of My Brilliant Friend! Thanks for this post letting me know. I would love the red cabbage risotto! I am off to look up recipes for that now.

I love the cartoon strips, soooo funny! The one about anxious urges, the clever wordplay, the sculpture of the woman with her legs in the air, wonderful.
The Slovenian band are pretty cool 🙂
I’m glad you described what that dish was, it looked rather disturbing. Now I know, I’d happily consume it myself. Funny how some things look like haggis but are actually delicious (I refuse to believe haggis is delicious).

Hehe, thanks, Sunra Nina. It does look weird. I wouldn’t recognise haggis though…

Well, it looks similar to that but not pleasingly purple, it’s rather like a brown regurgitation inside a transparent bag, which is the sheep’s stomach they boil it in. It’s all very disturbing to me as I’m a herbivore. But I judge no one, no one, just so you know 🙂
