Ooops, I meant bark and leaf. Because Cee asks for it. That I’ve got plenty, but today more bark than leaves.
As usually, my gallery is a blend of Tuscany to start with and Slovenia to finish. I’m not sure about all the tree species, but there are eucalyptus, pine, larch (I believe), sycamore (or plane), and my parents’ palm tree in the last photo.
Instead of going on about Luka and the Mavs winning again (even if they did, they beat Steph again hihi), let me just wish you a good weekend and breathe deep.
Bark and leaves with a view. San Gimigano. By the Elsa river. Bark’n’cat. Trees have eyes. Shedding eucalyptus twins. Botanical garden Corsini in Porto Ercole. Also there. Uncle was not amused. “That doesn’t mean anything,” he said. No longer Tuscany. In search of Odescalchi Castle. (It was too far. Next time.) Plenty of lichen around here. It’s a good sign, right? Clean air? Not sure if this is its trademark or it is sick. First time I saw this. A cicada shell. Plenty of these fellows on the bark of the pine trees. The tall pines in our little park. A crossover to Slovenia. Miss Tree 2021 of the Maribor area. It’s an old sycamore. Father is rarely so little. A birch (yes?) by Lake Jasna. A couple of larches (no?) in Ljubljana near my parents’. Not sure about this one even though it’s in my uncle’s garden. In Piran I found this pavilion and fell in love. One tree in my parents’ garden in Piran (which one?). And another. This palm grows quickly.
For Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Bark and leaves

This day in my blogging history
What marvelous barks and leaves you have for us this week. I enjoyed the variety of barks 😀 😀

Thank you, Cee, for these words and this theme. I don’t remember ever seeing bark in a photo challenge.

What a great idea for a post! As you’ve demonstrated, bark rewards a close look. I’m particularly entranced by the swirling pattern of the eucalyptus trees, shedding bark the way Luka sheds defenders on his way to 41 points (!) and another amazing Mavs comeback. I followed the last quarter in real time and thought of you!

Ahh, how lovely, Carol Ann! He sheds alright… The last quarter was not the best for him but others stepped up. Sooo good to see. And thanks, I’m glad you like my trees. And I’ve seen that you link to me in your last post but have still to read it.

Definitely take your time catching up on my post. You have VERY important seeing (and rooting) to do for all of us!

I am so glad you corrected the bark. 😆 I saw the scores in the paper this morning. Luka scored like 41 points?! As long as he outscores LeBron…

I am too, Lois. 😀 41 one is correct, against Steph Curry. LeBron already fell two nights ago. 😉

Thank you, Denny. I love it too and was so surprised to find these trees in Italy. We don’t have them in Slovenia.

We do not have them here, either, but I think I did see them when traveling Italy.

Why do I love trees so much?

What’s not to love, Bojana? They are firm and reliable and quiet and strong, among other things. Thanks.

And yet many people don’t notice them at all, don’t care, don’t think. Back home they are cut down mercilessly. You have to be a monster to be able to do it.

Those are splendid barks and the water is gorgeous by the river and lake. I’m so glad it wasn’t about barf after all! 🤣 Have a lovely week-end Manja!

Such a wonderful display of beauty with these photos ~ an oasis of nature, and you’ve chosen two magical places from the beginning of Tuscany to the finish in Slovenia. Great post, Manja, and wish you a great weekend ahead.

Thank you kindly, Dalo. 🙂 It’s been calm. I hope you had a great show. I saw they had to postpone a couple.

Yes, they I was able to see Eddie Vedder on 21-Feb, and it was a great show – there were two members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers in the band who added so much. The shows in San Diego and LA were postponed but fortunately the Seattle shows went on 🙂 I was back to living in the 90s again 🙂

Thank you, Sarah. Only recently I’ve learned that they are called gum trees in Australia.

I’ve known that since I was a child because we learned the song about the kookaburra at school and he sits in an old gum tree!

Love the view through the door! Makes me want to step right through it. Then the twin eucalyptus trees are beautiful. All wonderful, Manja. 😊

I recognise some of these photos, and it’s nice to see them again. That cat though, sitting in front of the tree. Wonderful capture, my fave 🙂

Thank you, Sunra Nina. Again the animal shot is your favourite. I made the right selection for today’s post then. 🙂

It just so happens to always be the case. I am an animal lover though despite not having any.
