This is the first door from Piran. After I’ve been here for a week, 55 door photos are waiting already.
I was especially glad that Dan was on holidays last week since exactly on Thursday I was travelling to Slovenia where I am now and will stay for three months. It was the shortest and least stressful drive. Traffic is clearly not what it used to be.
No matter how happy it made me to see my parents and my sister, to stroll around the beautiful Piran, to swim and watch bestia lie in the sun in the Garden of Eden and Druga, the best thing of all was something else, a certain pair of tickets sister scored for mom and me.
Yes, we will see Luka Dončić play live! In the end of June Slovenia will play against Croatia in the shell-shaped arena of Ljubljana, my city, after I spent nights watching Luka in the NBA. And that’s not all: Luka’s mentor and roommate Goran Dragić agreed to come from the national team retirement after five years especially for this game. I say. Thank you, truly. You didn’t have to.
And now to doors. Yesterday I gathered all door photos taken this week in a folder and saw that there were 55 of them. But just earlier I noticed another one on my dog walk and had to do a double take. The door is not all that special but it contains a most pretty mailbox with a surprise. No relation but it felt like a parallel reality.

For Thursday Doors challenge hosted by Dan at No Facilities

Wonderful doors, and a photographer! Quite a coincidence. I’m glad you weren’t negatively affected by the break last week. I like that the mailbox has a small door of its own.
I hope you enjoy your summer!

Thank you, Dan. 🙂 I’m glad you liked this door on a door. I’m still in Piran. More doors from here will come this Thursday.

Well, Bojana, she does but I sent her to get me the tickets since they weren’t on sale in Piran. I told her to get the best ones but luckily she didn’t take the fancy 200 Eur ones. 😀 40 Eur I pay most gladly.

A very happy coincidence with the name. And you are going to see Luka live–I am so excited for you, Manja! Wouldn’t it be great for someone to take a photo of you and Luka? Yes, indeed. 🤨😃🏀

Hahha! Thanks, Lois, but I’m not planning on anything of the sort. I won’t be harassing him this way. What I look forward is that swoooooosh in the arena when his name is announced. And then when I see him move in the court live… That will suffice.

At first I thought I’d celebrate that BEAUTIFUL feature photo and toast your reunion with your parents. But then I kept reading…. WOW WOW WOW. I’m so excited for you! And I think I remember watching Goran Dragić in the 2018 (?) European finals game you sent to me. Is that possible? I can’t wait to read about the game and the whole experience. In the meantime, savor the anticipation!

Exactly, Carol Ann. That 2017 Euro Championship finals against Serbia was the last game Goran played for Slovenia (and made the MVP). And now he is back just for this game I’ll attend!! 😮 As if I asked him nicely! I’m not planning on taking my camera to the game (only my phone, just in case. :D), and instead just enjoy the moment. Thank you for sharing my joy.

Love the doors, but it just tickles me so much that you are such a huge basketball fan ! ( Oh, wait … maybe it isn’t basketball at all, but rather , Luka!)

Hahha, Bonnie Rae, I giggle every time I read this comment. Well, Luka is really good at basketball. 😀 I remember when I was 14 or so and there was Dražen Petrović, another basketball genius from Croatia (sadly departed). It was similar. It was Dražen but it was basketball first. Some people just… do it right. Thanks, I’m glad I can tickle you in this way. 😀

I especially like that the red box looks stitched.
And how wonderful you get to see basketball! (K)

Quite, K. Wonderful things, everywhere I look, except my back decided to ache again. But it’s better already. Be well!

I like everything about this post, Manja, and I hope you have a wonderful three weeks. I’m more or less in the middle of a two week stay in California with our daughter, her husband, and our new grandson. 🙂 What’s not to like, especially as at home in Arizona it’s over 110!!

Thank you, Janet, lovely to hear that you liked this post and that you’re having wonderful together times too. In my case it will be three months, not just weeks. Quite a long time! But it’s just too hot in Italy. Wishing you well!

Thank you, I. J. Can’t tell for sure if you’re joking or I didn’t make it clear. Not my postbox, we just share the surname and hobby… And funnily enough, dad told me only after he saw this post that last week the postman had mistakenly delivered two letters for her to our address!!
