Here is the second part of Maribor doors. These are from Koroška Street in the centre of the city, which recently lost its traffic.
Now, without traffic, you can stroll freely from door to door and between arches that lead to courtyards. Some are more cared for than others.
When you reach the end of the street, there is the Main Square (Glavni trg) where my grandmother, my father’s mother, used to live up on the fourth floor without the lift. On this walk with sister and uncle two weeks ago I kept sensing her with us. We will reach her door on a coming Thursday.
In the meantime I have reached Tuscany. Our home is nicer than I remember and we have more fun. Uncle (not the one in this post) is still happily swimming, but for the weekend rain and storms are promised. It might be that the summer is leaving over here as well.
Whereas back in Piran, a Hollywood movie with Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg is being shot (Our Man from Jersey) and rumours have it that my father has landed a part bigger than an extra…

Wonderful doors and arches, Manja. These photos make me wish I lived in Europe – love the streets and architecture and doors!

New Jersey is my home state! A Hollywood movie about Jersey filmed in Piran with your dad in it. It doesn’t get much better than this, Manja!

This is a wonderful collection, Manja. I like the large arched doors, especially the open pair and the view beyond. I love the door with the slight curve and the curvy metalwork in the glass pain. I think it would be cool if your father landed a part in the movie. You might have to bring back the “mexi movie” blog name 😉

I wandered around Seattle, as well as my own city of Auburn, and I must say that I sooo love the history in the places you wander. Amazing architecture and design and real materials not the manufactured stuff here. I love all of these door posts!

When a street is closed off to traffic, there is a special feeling of having access to areas that before were impossible ~ nice photos, and I hope new doors of opportunities opened up for you 🙂

Hi Manja, How are you. I haven’t heard from you for ages. Hope you are doing well. I love your doors. I agree that the doors in Europe are so cool. I’ve been wandering around Portland on vacation taking pictures of doors not nearly this interesting. 🙂 Have a great week. 🙂
