Before the new year arrives, I still need to deal not with this one but with the one before. Here is 2021 with one photo per month.
As I have done five years before – links to previous calendars are listed below the gallery – here is 2021 as it was originally planned, with one photo per month.
When I attempted my first overview of the year, I had twelve photos immediately, it’s just that they were all from January. That is how my monthly series was born.
Throughout this year I was posting a look back at each month in twenty images. All posts are gathered here, but today let me choose one photo per month.
I like the green and blue gallery that has thus emerged. Here it is. Goodbye 2021, welcome, 2023, when – you guessed it – it will 2022’s time to shine.

Fabulous photos for the year Manja. I like the “eyes” on the pine cone 🙂

Thank you, Bushboy. Merry Christmas! Australia will no longer be thought of as having the opposite season. The northern hemisphere is having all the weather at once. While America is freezing, in Rome it’s almost 20 degrees C!

Enjoy the season, Manja. It’s cold here, but we’re OK. At least the wind has died down. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

I love the collection of photos. Are these photos what defined your month?

Thank you, Julie. In some cases there is no deep meaning or definition, I simply enjoy the photo. 🙂

Thank you, Sofia. Yes, I will continue with this tradition, even though I’m not taking as many photos as before. Sometimes it feels as if all the photos had been taken. I may reduce the number of photos per month. I hope you’re having a calm and magical Christmas day. In Rome it’s sunny.

Exquisite. And I’m so glad you included the September pine cone. That was my favorite picture — anywhere! — this year. (I still have your original post open on my laptop so that I can look at it any time.) I wish you many blessings in 2023!

This is such a lovely thing to do and say, Carol Ann. 🙂 I give you my permission to do with this photo as you wish – print it or save it or share it. I can also mail it in the best quality I have if you’d like. Happy 2023!

Hugs right back, Crystal, and thank you. I admit that for 2022 it won’t be as easy because I wasn’t taking as many photos as in the previous years. I might limit the number of photos per month to 10.

Love this collection! I perused 2020 as well, that one’s exquisite. January, March, April and November are the best. You really capture the character of the animal in your shots, it’s wonderful.
