Here are more doors from our May visit of this little town north of Rome with good energy and a great bistro LINA.
The heat is eating my brain, and it’s not even 35 degrees C. I try but words don’t come.
I’ve read “The Anomaly” by Hervé Le Tellier, didn’t help (though fascinating). Tried starting to watch a new series, one of several recommended by Mr. Michael Moore himself, and it was appalling. (Just so that you don’t, it was “The Night Agent”.)
There was a 3.7 earthquake near Siena yesterday (1h45 away) and I learned of it online.
Bestia has digestion issues and keeps waking me up at all hours and walking me in the worst heat. I hope it’s not in the water.
Just the thought of sitting in the car to drive anywhere makes me sick, and yet we will have to do it for eight hours or so to reach Slovenia in some three weeks. But wait! The car is the only air-conditioned place we have…
Let’s get away from it all and return to the little town Castelnuovo di Porto with LINA bistro where I celebrated my birthday this May. Two Thursday Doors post were from here already and there will be more. Today we go under the arch and to the right.
The photos are exactly how my eyes were going in these seven minutes. No people, just a cat and some lemons. A sheep silhouette. And lots of doors. Welcome to stroll and view along.

I am drawn to the teal door (love the color), Manja, but wondering what the hole at the bottom is for. A mouse door? A cat door? or just a hole in the door? I really do love the doors and cobblestone streets of Europe. They are so esthetically pleasing!

That was the first thing (actually the only thing!) that came to my mind, too, about that teal door–a mouse door! Great minds, Mary…

Thank you, Mary. True, Italy is so scenic, especially when it’s not trying. That hole I only noticed after posting the photo.

I hope Bestia is OK!
The little kitty walking to the door and then sitting. **I’m ready for my close-up.** So cute.

Yes, Lois, he’s fine. Also, I forget that he was born into this heat, it’s me who is a transplant and so I suffer. Maybe amore will fix air-conditioning by next summer, but clearly he likes it hot. Two more weeks and milder Slovenia.

Thanks for taking us along on this walk, Manja. I had the same question about the hole, but I thought, cat. Trying to come up with words in that kind of heat is difficult. I hope you get a break before you have to drive. At least the ride will be cool. I like the double doors today, especially the green ones.,

Thanks, Dan. It’s even hotter now. Counting the days. More doors from here coming this Thursday.

A lovely walk! Sorry about the heat. We have now started another three month road trip exploring North America. Since we are not obligated to go anywhere, I’m planning our route to avoid as much of the nastiness brought on by global warming as possible. We have no problems going a thousand miles out of our way to avoid excessive heat, smoke, etc.

Happy planning and road-tripping, Curt! I wish you the least amount of problems.

Hi Manja. Appreciated. Usually, we can get in just as much trouble at home as we do on the road. 🙂

I’m sorry the heat sending its icky sticky fingers too many places in your life right now, Manja. I hope a beautiful teal or green or brown door opens soon onto a bit of peace for you, Bestia and everyone.

Thank you for your beautiful wish, Carol Ann. No respite yet. Tonight I woke up at 1.30 am and couldn’t sleep so I got up and went to check the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Dallas rookies were losing for three quarters but won in the end. Hurrah!

The green door with the greenery – my fave. As for your story, sounds like it’s not the best of moments. Is Slovenia as hot right now?

Thanks, SMSW. Slovenia is almost as hot but at least in Piran there is air-conditioning.

Sorry about the heat. Do you have lots of humidity? We’re having 105F here today and up to 114F this weekend. Sigh. But that comes with living in Arizona during the summer. I hope Bestia’s feeling better. On the positive side, you have some grand doors and lots of lovely plants and flowers today. I really like the door you featured at the top. I thought the hole was probably for a dog or cat, although having it just open means other critters could come in as well. Anyway, I hope you and Bestia are both feeling better soon.

The green #3 door is my fave of this collection. I’m sorry you are suffering in the heat, but I know you will travel to Slovenia soon and have cooler weather, and the sea to swim in while you are in Piran.
