This is the last door post from the small town north of Rome with LINA bistro, owned by amore’s daughter and her boyfriend, where I celebrated my May birthday this year.
Three Thursday Doors posts from here preceded this one and I still don’t know which door is their home. I may have taken a photo of it without knowing.
Here is the fourth batch. We meet a friendly local, discover one door on sale and one whose mood is doom – or perhaps just a long dom, which means home in my language.
I was happy because I was in such a lovely town with many lovely doors in a good company, not to mention that I got a crostata and presents for my birthday. Bestia was happy because there were so many friendly people and dogs coming into the bistro. Amore was happy to see his daughter happy. I asked amore’s father if he was also thinking of opening a bar or restaurant, and he said: “Nope. Too much work.”

Thank you, bushboy. I indeed got lucky and included the door of amore’s daughter’s home without knowing. 🙂

So many wonderful doors, Manja. Happy birthday. Good company, good friends, dogs and doors sounds like a great combination to me.

I finally got around and posted some doors in my last post, thinking of you. Was the small dog yours too? Happy belated birthday!

I had a quick look at your amazing doors but still need to read the post in full. Thank you so much for the alert. No, the small dog was not mine but rather the local greeting party. 🙂 Be well! Any movement around Slovenia this summer? I’m going there in a week for almost two months.

July to September? I have to check. Maybe I’ll meet you there. I love Slovenia. Never had bad food there. Will you be in Ljubljana?

In Ljubljana and Piran on the coast (which you must see if you haven’t). It’s an hour and a bit between them. Write to me before you move.

Awesome! Will check the airfare and email you if I can make it over. Otherwise, I’ll live through your posts 🙂

My sister – whose birthday is today – has just put up her Ljubljana apartment for B&B. In Piran I cannot guarantee accommodation.

I kind of like narrow alleys, weathered doors. They have so much character. Sounds like you had a good birthday- good food, photography, family. Have you left to Slovenia yet?

Yes, back in May, with my second family. Some of us are lucky to have more than one. Amore’s daughter told me yesterday that I managed to capture the door of their home in this post without knowing. 🙂 Italy has many such alleys, fully harmless too. But this is too hot what we are having now, with only fans and no air-con. To Slovenia I’m going next weekend, fortunately.

Wow! What a lovely coincidence that you did. And, true, nothing like having a family. More the better.
I can’t even imagine how difficult it must be without an air-con. I’m not going to complain again about it being hot. At least we have the option of being indoors and turning it on. Take care, Manja, and enjoy your holidays 🩷🤗
