I love doors gifts. Father took these back in June when he and mom took a ferry to Krk, the second largest Croatian island. Just perfect for today, since I have yet to organise my door photos from the last two months.
Yes, I’m back in Tuscany, yes, amore was happy to have me back, and yes, Slovenia beat Italy at the basketball World Cup to claim spot #7.
Fun fact: Team USA – which finished 4th – and Slovenia have the same statistics. We both won five games and lost three times, to the same opponents: Germany (which won the Cup), Canada (came 3rd), and Lithuania (came 6th). Go figure. So why didn’t Slovenia end up higher? Hmmmm. Luka must figure out whether he will play to win or fight the system. Sadly, he cannot have both.
But now to doors which come from Vrbnik on the island Krk in the north Adriatic sea. Fun fact 1: Luka spends his holidays on this island and in fact a friend of mine, who is there all summers as well, had a fun night singing and drinking with his father a couple of months ago. Here is the son with his new boat on Krk:

Fun fact 2: I was in Vrbnik once with my first live-in boyfriend whose father hailed from this island. We used to run an Italian language school together. Alas, I never listened in. Serves me right, he said when he learned where I live now.
Thank you for all the doors, dad! Plus, there’s mom. Last week we learned that at least one of you has a crush on her, and another on dad. Their message: Sorry, but you don’t stand a chance. 😀

I love these photos. Composing a good image runs in the family, I guess. I love the stone stairs and the narrow passages.. Welcome home, and thanks to Dad for providing the photos!

The stone arch is my favourite. How lovely that people send you doors. I sent one from Mexico too, so I understand why people do. It’s because you love door gifts so much – we want to please you. :o)

Ahh, I didn’t realise you sent it for me to post! If you won’t, I’ll do it next week most happily. It’s astonishing!

I only sent it to show you because I knew you would like it. But please always feel free to post images I send to you. The world can handle the same door from both of us. It will be at least a month before I get a chance to post anything from Mexico – so if you can use it, please do. 🙂

Hehe. It was only for Italian language. We cooked during classes too. My ex had a completely wrong way of making carbonara. 😀
