Thursday Doors 5/10/23: Ljubljana & dragons

Today we go back to early September and one of the last things I did in Slovenia before returning home in Tuscany: lunch in the center in Ljubljana with sister and friends and a stroll towards the dragons.

There are doors too, but it’s more about the experience itself, something that I miss most of all: urban sights and my people. The restaurant was a new Bosnian one by the Ljubljanica river, called Baščaršija, and we tasted Sarajevo beer.

Then we strolled along the river towards the Dragon Bridge and gelato. I was on the lookout for doors and messages from the street. A poet says that Ljubljana streets say all that which its inhabitants don’t. “Death to Egosystem” is brilliant.

Hoping you are well, with thanks.

  1. Nice to see your fair city once again! When I saw the word Baščaršija, I remembered being in that old part of Sarajevo! I have no idea how to pronounce it, but it stuck in my head all these years.
