Today we go back to early September and one of the last things I did in Slovenia before returning home in Tuscany: lunch in the center in Ljubljana with sister and friends and a stroll towards the dragons.
There are doors too, but it’s more about the experience itself, something that I miss most of all: urban sights and my people. The restaurant was a new Bosnian one by the Ljubljanica river, called Baščaršija, and we tasted Sarajevo beer.
Then we strolled along the river towards the Dragon Bridge and gelato. I was on the lookout for doors and messages from the street. A poet says that Ljubljana streets say all that which its inhabitants don’t. “Death to Egosystem” is brilliant.
Hoping you are well, with thanks.

Nice to see your fair city once again! When I saw the word Baščaršija, I remembered being in that old part of Sarajevo! I have no idea how to pronounce it, but it stuck in my head all these years.

Haha, Lexi, funny this. Try it: Baaash-char-she-ya. The first baaa is like what sheep say, but it’s the ‘char’ that is stressed.

I like the invader dragon, of course, but the dragons on the bridge are unforgettable. ❤ My fave street composition was in your final photo. Not sure why that one appealed to me, but I like it.

Graffiti is alive and well! It suits the doors well. (K)

I’m sorry to show up a day late, Manja, especially for these doors and the street art. I absolutely love the building you featured, and the dragons are so so cool. I hope all is well.

What an eye you have for the magical! Each time I stop by to peruse your posts, I’m blow away by how you transport us through ordinary things into lands of enchantment. Hoping this finds you well.

This sounds beautiful, Atrayee, and it’s me who you mean, wow! The truth is that now that I’m back in Tuscany I do it less and less and it pains me. I could just drive, but then I don’t. Thank you so so much!!

So green. You can almost smell the air.

When the invaders know what they’re doing with a spray can, I can forgive them. But they ought to practise on scrap wood first! “Death to Ecosystem” IS brilliant 🙂

That should have said “Egosystem.” My predictive text thinks it knows better.
