We continue our stroll through Rovinj on the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, including the Church of St. Euphemia at its highest point.
Taking today’s photos took twenty minutes as my parents, bestia and I ascended the hill in the middle of Rovinj and found the Church of St. Euphemia sitting on top.
All this time amore was out of sight. After having kindly volunteered to return to our car and prolong our parking fee, he informed us he had no intention of climbing this hill. It’s not that he didn’t have enough churches in Italy. We were reunited later as we came back down, as we will see in the next post from this day.
For now we enjoy all the colourful doors I found, trying to keep my camera away from the many tourists. On top I entered the church briefly and clicked a few times, even though the church doors were not particularly spectacular. I preferred its colourful windows. And the view was lovely. Welcome to stroll along.

Green door and pink stool.
Another peek through an old door frame.
Blue on yellow.
A window, I know.
Look at this fellow mounted on the wall!
A wreath on blue among green.
These girls took so long that I gave up. I’m sorry now. I’d love to take more photos.
I liked this insight. And the phone-in-hand on the right.
As we established two weeks ago, this is my favourite door colour.
The look down where we came from.
Here you go, Saint Euphemia on top, I presume.
The view in was inviting so I went.
It must be her again. And lots of visitors.
The look up.
I liked this window a lot.
A similar but emptier view than before.
The way out and another window. I have a similar photo from Siena.
Equally pretty.
Here it is, the Church of St. Euphemia almost in full.
And a side door for the end of this part.

Amore made me laugh. Sounds like my husband…”I’ll just wait in the car for you.”

Those blue and green doors remind me of Tunisia. Very picturesque.
