Today we say goodbye to our host Cecilia and Castello di Proceno north of Lake Bolsena and observe some doors nearby on the way to the car. This visit was a real deal.
Once I was out of the garden and was observing the next group getting ready to visit the castle on this open-door May day, I took a photo of the main door where we came in an hour earlier.
I knew I could linger in these streets for quite some time, since doors seemed never-ending, but I had two more visits to make that day: to one other castle (Bracciano, already shown on Thursday Doors) and an art exhibition by the lake (no doors there to speak of).
The day started extremely well and I was happy and grateful: to Cecilia Cecchini Bisoni for the lovely tour with the smile, to all the steps that didn’t trip me, to my feet for holding up, to amore for buying me the infra red lamp (for chickens, my physiotherapist had said) that made the pain almost go away, and of course, to all the doors.
Thank you for all your visits and your words, always.

A look back how it went. We climbed to the roof.
The view was spectacular.
The garden was lovely too and you can rent a room.
The rest of our group were staying here.
Following Cecilia.
A door in greenery.
Leaving here.
One last look at the garden.
Where it started an hour earlier. The new group was ready.
Hail hail the Italian doors. Let’s enjoy them without words.

Goodbye, Proceno, and grazie!
Through here I reached the parking lot with my car an hour earlier. Google Maps has jokes.
Posts in this series:
- 1: Through Cecilia’s apartment
- 2: Up to the roof
- 3: Through the garden
- 4: Out and around with doors of Proceno (this post)

Fabulous doors once again. I particularly liked the very old padlocked door. I think it contains a mystery!!

This is a wonderful collection of beautiful doors, Manja. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I do really like the narrow double doors at number 84/ The shape and style are simple, but elegant. The castle has been quite a treasure chest of doors. I enjoyed the tour. Thanks!
