Rarely but it happens that I have two posts for one challenge. On Tuesday feet were shoed, today they are shoeless.
I remember when Sandy had her hands and feet challenge and a question formed in my mind: In a temple where you are to walk barefoot, is it feasible to do it in shoes if you have a medical condition due to which you cannot walk barefoot (for long)? I suppose it’s not recommended.
I busted my feet a few years ago on a solo photo walk in Ljubljana, wearing flat sandals, walking too fast for too long in the heat, and the next day I was not able to stand, on either foot. It’s something similar to plantar fasciitis. With time and two injections and some therapy sessions and silicon pads it got better but I’m still hurting when I start to walk and if I walk for too long.
Walking barefoot hurts the most, so here are some memories of happy carefree barefoot fun, mine and other people’s, from previous years. And bestia’s. And Barbie’s.
Let’s start with the green shoes off. In the sea. In the sand. On the edge. Then bestia came along. So small and on the beach already. He was half a year old here and I went to swim in October. Sister calling bestia. This house is now a fancy club. Also in October. Mom is surprised. Cold or warm? A rare sighting of the native on the beach. My extended pack. Another purple piece of clothing. Lake Bolsena. Nice and warm. Bestia found some mud on the Slovenian coast. Grandma’s sofa in Maribor. She would not approve. Boštjan Drinovec: Dancing Boy, 2010. Spotted in Maribor Bestia + Barbie in the Roman garden. She fell from the sky naked. Mother’s art, father’s bread, my happy feet. In Piran Winnie-the-Pooh. In Slovenian he is Pu. My daily view from the computer. Feet happily up. Sharing the towel with bestia in Terme di Saturnia… … where the water has almost 40 degrees. This feels good.

So sorry to hear it. It can be nasty when your feet hurt.

Thank you, Bojana. It was really tough for a time but now I sort of got used to it. Can’t walk for long or hike anymore though. 😦 How about your leg?

I’m still struggling. My dr told me it’d take one more year to heal.
I can’t walk more than 15, 20 min. It gets tough when it’s all still. As if it’s wooden.

Right, Dan. In the whole Yugoslavia, along the long Croatian coast, I think there is one sandy beach. All others are pebbles or stones. Over here I have 12 km of dark sand. It gets really hot too and you can burn your feet on it.

Sandals are treacherous. I fallen a couple times walking in flip flops on perfectly flat, clear and dry pavements. And wearing them for long walks? Aii-yah. Nowadays I wear sturdy and ugly hiking shoes all the time. Even at the beach.
He He. I laughed at your green shoes picture — that’s a photo exercise in perspective.

Thank you, Sandy. That green shoe shot was a fluke. 😀 (As are most.) Better safe and comfortable I say too.

Those are pretty neat images of your feet, family feet, and pet paws! So many memories here for you to enjoy. I love photography for this reason!
I am sorry about your feet. The older I get the less comfortable I am walking on the house’s tile floors barefoot. I wear slippers now instead.
Hey, how cool to see my name in Winne-the-the Pooh’s book!! I’m going to show He-man he might get more of a kick out of it than even me. 😍
Oh! Refreshing the page after viewing your image gallery worked!! I had no issues typing this. Woot!!!

Oh, Deborah, excellent to hear this last, and that you got rewarded for careful viewing. 😉 Indeed, almost your name, just one latter is different. In Slovenian rabbit is “zajec”. I hope he liked it. And yes, for me photography has always meant memories too.

Sorry about your feet, barefoot troubles, manja. I have difficulties as well, but from Hallux Valgus. Walking barefoot is more difficult nowadays. Love your photos, love the shared towel…love.
