Tango will be the death of me "When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way." ~Wayne Dyer (with thanks to Selma) Dance, dance. It takes two to tango. And if it doesn’t you don’t and you know. I tell amore how excited I was when a free tango lesson awaited after a tango concert once in my previous life. For that I walked all day in the city with my ex in my tight shoes with a strap as I’ve seen in movies. Sally Potter directed a movie about her real romance with her tango teacher. She played herself, but also he played himself, even though they were through. Imagine that. And yet even though he knew how much I wanted it, he refused. He would not be made to look like a fool for not learning to tango in one lesson. Na-ah. And as I’m telling this to amore, I don’t need to ask. I can see his stance on it clearly written all over his face. It takes two to tango. And if it doesn’t you know and you don’t. Yo, la tango. No, I don’t.
In photos several occasions when there was dancing going on in Slovenia. I guess I miss it.
Traditional dance in Nova vas near the border with Croatia. Sister’s big 30 party. Oh yes, they danced. Typical Slovenian dancing. But this was my big 40 party. And I danced as I wanted. KUD in Ljubljana. My poet friend and I were the only guests. Kolo, the dance of Yugoslavia. I love it the most when they are doing it. They’ve got the moves! Bestia wants to join in. A chance tango evening in Piran. It stopped me in my tracks and I thought back. Tango was the death of her too.

This day in my blogging history
… and you’ll put on your dancing shoes and dance your favorite dance. And no one’s gonna die here.
Oh, you, this is all exquisitely lovely.
You did write your great post. And I did see that quote.
How sweet of you to mention me alongside that Fabulous quote. Thanks, my sweet.
I totally enjoyed the photography too. Just fabulous. Thanks. Be well, my sweet. I hope you take a moment to gaze at the moon tonight. The show is on all week. And she blesses with moon-kisses. Get yours. xo

Thank you, Selma. I did write my poem and I did see the moon. It is hard to overlook. It seems bigger than usually and kind as always. You too.

Lovely. Get your fill as much as the clouds allow. We have thick ones overhead today. Oh well. I know she’s out there anyway. We look up at the same moon. 👏

With some music you just have to dance. Bestia clearly knows–and your parents, as always. (K)

When I was a girl I wanted to sing and dance in the movies, and I put on plays at home and had a blast. Then I got the courage to try out for Fiddler on the Roof a real production. I was ten. I could sing, but failed the audition because I couldn’t catch on to the dance steps fast enough. And that was that. I never auditioned for another part.
Yes, you know. 😀

Ahh!! I can just picture you. Talented but unlucky and impatient, maybe. 🙂 Do you still like to sing? Thank you, Deborah.

Brilliant! Tell me just one song that you always sing along. 😉

Just one! This morning I woke up singing a ditty from Sunshine, Lolipops, and Rainbows.
Just the chorus part. I sing along with every song I know. What about you, do you like to sing? What song is in your head or heart today?

I had to Google the song. 🙂 When I sing, it’s usually Me and Bobby McGee by Janis. 😉 Yesterday I discovered a singer or better band called C. Tangana. Find them in my today’s post.

Quite, Jane. Some are more expressive than others. Thank you for coming over!

I’m sure in Italy you have something like our Strictly Come Dancing, Manja, and there is nothing more riveting than watching a tango. But oh, to dance one!

To enjoy each step along the way…Like in life.
I love these pics. B and I dance around the house sometimes. I miss it, dancing so much you feet begin to hurt and you can’t stand but you keep dancing. I used to dance dance dance…
