Paula picks five words – we provide five photos. I need some order and brevity in my life, it seems.
I’m also behind with all your blogs and challenge entries but will catch up eventually. I might be feeling SUBDUED with CONSERVED energy but will go STRAIGHT back to my MEANDERING and SYSTEMATISED self. In case you missed it, much has to do with the Soft War Song as written and posted yesterday.
For Pick a Word – February 2022 hosted by Paula at Lost in Translation
This day in my blogging history
Your photos are splendid expressions of the five words. I’m enthralled particularly by the lizard and stairwell. Beauty is still necessary.

Oh, Carol Ann, I’m following all your lovely words that you have left under my posts, I’m just behind with my replies. Truly appreciated. ❤ Tomorrow is Luka's birthday. Let's see how he celebrates it at tonight's game (against Steph! :o).

Now we know how Luka’s birthday game went….. (And don’t worry: I fall behind too. Your generosity in replying to our comments is wonderful. We give you grace to skip sometimes!)

Great photos, but I love the last one on the page. Is that a beaver?

Thank you, Not Pam. This is a nutria or coypu (Myocastor coypus) of South American origin. It is thought of as the pest as it’s invasive. It is huge!

That stairwell might make an abstract painter out of me yet…..

I too am behind with posts and challenges so I know how you feel! I would love to do this one but each month I run out of time! I really like your responses, especially your ‘meandering’ and ‘straight’ shots 😀

Thank you, Sarah. I’m glad you understand and support my choices. We do what we can, blogging-wise, and sometimes it gets a bit much.

The photo in Piran looks like a sunburst! So pretty. And such beautiful colours in this post. I recognized the fortress La Rocca Aldobrandesca instantly. ❤

You’re good, Crystal! I wouldn’t even know this name without looking it up! Thanks. And that Piran sunburst you’ve seen as well. 🙂

ha ha. I had to look it up too. I remembered that it was not a castle…that’s all

Lovely shots. That one of a beaver at the end (it is a beaver, isn’t it?) is just Attenborough-worthy.

Hihih!! Sir Richard wouldn’t be glad to hear that in the USA they consider them – and it’s a nutria, not a beaver – pests and are paid for each dead one they can provide. :p

Goodness me, really?! How can something so beautiful be a pest? It’s a tough job keeping populations of things down, I understand the logic but I could never do it.
