CFFC: Bridges from there to here

I don’t have that many photos of bridges, thought I as I started to gather them. There were 50 in no time. Here is a (good) half of them.

I like bridges – crossing them, looking at them, looking from them, the purpose and the idea of them.

They are old and new, designed for feet, trains or cars, and in one instance taken over by sheep. First come those from Italy and then those from Slovenia, even though my path has taken me in the opposite direction. Let’s cross these bridges when we see them.

A Slovenian in Italy for love. Blogger, photographer, translator and would-be writer who would be a writer if she wrote. Plus reluctant but emerging poet. Beware.

  1. The same thing happened to me. I knew I had a lot of bridge photos, but I was shocked to see how many I had. I love the old stone bridges in your gallery, as well as some of the newer modern bridges. Also good to know I’m not the only one posting on the last day.

  2. I love bridges too. Like doors, they lead to interesting places if we accept their invitations. I love your choices. Your beautiful city of Ljubljana deserves top prize, especially the Triple Bridges and love photos!

  3. Love the bridges, reminds me of what I used to say that to my kids, build a bridge and get over it. My son went on to work in construction building bridges 😁

  4. I love bridges too and everything they stand for. I used to have a friend who was a bridge inspector. He told me that every so often they need strengthening. When I’m crossing a big one at a great height, I always get nervous and think how can it be so strong to hold all these cars and me?

That shot at the end – is that Bestia as a baby? What a gorgeous pup it is ❤

    1. Ahhh, that’s some friend to have. 😮 I’d be nervous too, especially here in Italy where bridges fall if you look at them in an ugly way. Yes, that was bestia at a few months. He will turn 9 in two weeks! Thanks, Sunra Nina. ❤

  5. Oh gosh, I can’t believe I have walked six of these bridges! And that Ponte della Pia, so so pretty. I’m glad you brake for bridges. And that handsome man over the Soca River, my goodness. I wonder if I could meet him one day…
