My own cloud

Here is a poem in which I say that I am my own cloud. I may drift and yet I am found, by presents, by ads, by you.

My own cloud

It’s like walking on clouds*
says an ad daring me to click.
Who doesn’t wish to walk on clouds?
Oh, but they know me.
They know this is just what I need.
The foot pain is the biggest problem I have.
I wear fluffiest socks
to minimise it.
They are like miniature clouds.
Cloud shoes would be the next step.
And the next? A bubble.
Like the one we just had.
Mine continues.
I am my own cloud.
I make my own weather.

*shoe commercial slogan

I didn’t click on that ad – merely closely monitoring how they are trying to get to me – but I got a package on Friday. Parents sent me coffee, the best kiwis I’ve ever had from their Piran garden, sweets, chicken salami. Just before I went to throw away the box, something white winked from under the edge: a recent photo of mom.

When I got the previous package, the quarantine was on and it made me feel as if I were in the army. Now I imagine it’s war.

  1. First things first – I have caught up!! Ha ha!! Though of course, it probably won’t last.

Secondly, love the poem and the clouds especially, the singular ones floating. It reminds me of Wordsworth’s “I wonder lonely as a cloud…” 🙂

  2. I love the way you titled this one and I loved the poetry. Your photos share such a nice visit of your days. I loved how you took the poppy from underneath and picture you lying on the ground to get the perfect shot. lol. lovely. Donna

    1. Thank you, Donna! I’m so glad for your words, especially since I found four comments of yours in spam! WordPress should learn that we are friends! 😀 I call these poppy selfies. This one is last year’s but I’ll make more once they are out again. Today I saw the first two! I didn’t lie on the ground for it but merely put the camera to the ground and clicked without looking. 🙂

      1. Came out good. I tried it today with some purple flowers. I’ll have to practice more.

WordPress is funny sometimes. I have run across blogs that I was certain I was following as and found I wasn’t connected. Oh well. I’m glad you found my spam. I’m always here. Just in and out…
