The selection was not easy, but here are twenty photos from last May for my Calendar. Frankly, I could easily post nothing but twenty photos of poppies, twenty of other flowers, twenty of animals, or twenty from my two day trips.
Here is a bit of everything then. May is possibly the prettiest month around here, especially if it isn’t too hot and the quarantine ends just before your birthday. We went on a day trip with a nice lunch to celebrate it, and it was wet but I saw something new!
And on the night before we went to the theatre! And the weekend after I went on a three-garden open-door day tour. So much excitement all of a sudden!
But that was then and this is now. Tonight the Eurovision Song Contest starts with the first semi-final which includes Slovenia, and we will see if it really can’t make the top ten to qualify for Saturday’s finals as everybody says.
And then I’ll have a few hours of sleep before Luka and the Mavs are on at 4 am against the Suns, and we will see if the Mavs really can’t beat the Suns in their desert as less and less people say.
My tip: find your excitement where you can.
Simple and simply stylish. Mushroom forest. Goats happy among the poppies. Look at this content face! Or this one. Happy bestia. A new growth of the kind I’d never seen before. Rainbow from our garden. And then suddenly, ta-taaaam, theatre! An undemanding benefit comedy in Grosseto, while bestia waited in the car. On my birthday it was the first cappuccino in half a year. Bestia wants some of that too. Murky but splendid. We found a new vantage point in Pitigliano where we had lunch. In the Janua Coeli Monastery near Sorano we surprised a Sister playing with her drone as one does. Sorano was our first-time visit. A huge walk-in fortress completely for free. Back home. Look at those ears! A new walking path discovered nearby but bestia protested over spiky seeds. The view of Lake Burano from the path. Then it was the open-door day. Villa Cetinale in Sovicille was the stop number one. From the road I could see Siena in the distance. The last stop was Villa di Radi in a former castle. Fancy! Home is not as fancy but always available. Even though sometimes I wish to be that bird. Because I feel a little like these flowers.

2014: Conversation as of just now:
– Mom walked for 15 km today.
– But why?
– There was a walk around Ljubljana.
– But why?
– There was a holiday.
– But why?
– A holiday of liberation from under the Italians.
– But isn’t there a bus?
Love the Pitigliano viewpoint!

Thank you, Selma!! Just yesterday I realised that it’s full moon on the 16th and since I fast for 24 hours every full and every new moon, any feast will have to be postponed…

I love the goats among all the poppies! And the shot of the nun with the drone is excellent!

Thank you, Sarah. It was so funny when we parked by the monastery, heard the noise and discovered what was making the noise. 😀

Thank you, Neil. As it is, there was excitement but no joy. Maybe today joy but no excitement because the Mavs will thrash the Suns by 20 points. 😀

I particularly love the nun and her drone. How did you see that?? Indeed, find one’s excitement where one can!

Haha, thanks, Carol Ann. We parked and heard the noise and I laughed when I saw where it was coming from. 😀 It’s a little monastery and we’d never find it if I didn’t first spot it on google maps at home. One glance at its door and I knew I had to go there. 🙂

Thank you for this photographic extravaganza, Manja 😀 I love your captions and how you illustrate how you’re feeling that way. The bird and the flowers. You’re such a poet. I love the organic images, the mushrooms, Bestia reflected in you, the snails on the bin. 🙂 You make me reach for my camera, always.

This is marvellous, Sunra Nina, that I make you do things. I wish I could do the same to me. Well, I do, sometimes, but I rarely obey myself. Thank you!!
